This is specialised course designed for those with a duty of care towards people in and around the pool area. Our RSTO Pool Lifeguard Training program has both theoretical and practical sides as to precautions around the pool, risk assessment techniques, how to actually perform a rescue, how to ensure the safety of others and how to use different methods to help a drowning victim. RSTO Instructors have passed a comprehensive program on how to train others to become real lifeguards. You can be assured that our program reaches standards of the highest quality.
Learning to teach how to be a lifeguard ideally requires experience and background knowledge of the subject. Past experience will be taken into consideration if you are thinking of applying as an instructor. If you comply with all the requirements, you may be selected to attend the training course for the Pool Lifeguard program. During this course, you will learn how to perfect your techniques in the water, how to demonstrate them to others and how to expect others to learn them. Theoretical and practical sessions are all part of the training program. It is recommended that candidates hold a First Aid certificate.
